meeting room

one of the investor’s requirements was to design an untraditional meeting room. the liberal assignment and budget meant great freedom, but this is sometimes more difficult than it may seem. without feedback and absence of consultations with the client, there is the danger of creative monologue and exhibitionism.

this project veers away from the office functionality and austerity, which is characteristic for such spaces. a conference room has its own, often ignored specifics. every meeting is in fact a bit of a show or theatre, and our concept for the interior emphasises this aspect. to increase the feeling of intimacy and quiet during a meeting, we covered the windows – they are hidden behind the cladding of the walls. the space should invoke extreme feelings – movement on the edge. the room is strictly divided by colour into two “sets” – black (intimate and closed off) and white (open), which can be used independently or together simply by joining the tables. another connecting element is the 6-metre aquarium.

contrast is also evoked by the use of materials and furnishings. on the one hand, there are traditional materials, such as leather or the famous chairs by charles and ray eams. on the other hand, we can find modern and dynamic components manufactured from the most-modern technologies: the pipe lights from artemide or an original table with a transparent, perforated top made of perspex.
