proposals for the principles unifying the duhové energie sales points
the assignment required the creation of design principles that could be used in premises of various ages, sizes and styles. the interior should not be interchangeable with other retail chains and it should be easy to distinguish the company’s line of business.
due to the number of new and renovated duhová energie outlets, it was necessary to work in a different way than one would on a project tied to a specific space. as a lot of shapes and colours in the outlets repeat themselves, we used, for example, serial production of furniture with the help of forms. the main motif of the sales premises is again the light-bulb, yellow and the circle – symbols of energy and the sun. energy expressed as flow or movement is present in the interior in the form of a repetitive wavy curve, which dominates the layout of the tables of each of the “counters”, or the mosaic floor composed of yellow, white and stainless-steel disks. the dynamics of the space is supported by the shaped ceiling, from which clumps of light-bulbs protrude irregularly.
the space is set up as an open hall to ensure personal contact between clients and the salespersons. should it be necessary to separate the space in some way, such division is created by furniture and a system of partial partitions or glass partitions with foil adhered to them. the concreteness and definiteness of the interior elements is, however, broken up by the inexactness of the irregularly alternating strips of shiny stainless steel sheets of various widths.
