the offices of this law firm are specific in that they go against today’s trend toward open space offices – the client requested independent rooms for a maximum of two lawyers. however, the design solution is not the traditional one leading to infinite, vacant halls with rows of doors on either side. instead, the project is built on the presence of vast amounts of light in the inside sections of the layout (hallway, reception), which underlines the feeling of spaciousness. it combines glass walls with solid walls, the latter of which sometimes incorporating large-scale mirrors.
offices often require a great amount of storage space. this requirement is dealt with using cabinets integrated directly into the wall: in this way, something voluminous becomes a surface whose various materials visually accent the space.
the center of these offices is the entrance with the reception. the room, which is located in the very middle of the floor plan, is optically connected through the glass upper part of the walls not only to the office area itself, but also to the outside. the dynamics of the space and the feeling of energy are supported by simple, box lights that, thanks to their mirror-like surface, lose their third dimension and float freely through the space.
